Biography & Metadata

Back Alley Pep Rally (BAPR) is a three-piece powerhouse originating from Dayton, Ohio and Las Vegas, Nevada. Starting up in 2016, they released their rough demo, (Black Album). Following this release, the band focused the remainder of 2016 securing a solid lineup, which later performed at the Mesa Music Festival that year. This original lineup consisted of Dan Mehal (Vocals), Justin Rissmiller (Guitars) and Sabian Pack (Drums). Soon after the festival, Sabian made an exit, leaving the band as a duo consisting of Dan and Justin. The two began recording the band’s first self-titled album while looking for a permanent drummer. The band themselves composed, produced, mixed, and mastered the entire album. Their self-titled debut was released on February 21st, 2017, through T&R Recordings of Dayton, Ohio. The band then set out on a West Coast tour in March 2017 with The Beast of Bailey Downs to support the album. Dru Shaw, close friend to the band, joined the tour to play drums. Since then, the band has been able to solidify a new lineup with Justin Rissmiller on guitars and vocals, Dan Mehal on bass and vocals, and Tony Garcia on drums. Their second full-length album, (Green Album), was released on October 1st, 2019, and has been their most successful release with over three million digital streams and over 3,500 physical copies sold to date. On November 7th, 2025, the band released their third full-length album, known as (Blue Album).
