Biography & Metadata

Formed on March 3, 2003, under the name Massive with members Rian, Rama, Kiki, Rai, and Why, D’MASIV began their journey as an independent band through the album Menuju Nirwana (2006) before rising to become one of Indonesia’s biggest music acts. After winning AMLW 2007 against 3000 bands, then changing their name to D’MASIV, they exploded onto the national scene with their debut album Perubahan (2008) and the hit single “Cinta Ini Membunuhku.” Their success continued with “Jangan Menyerah,” which earned 4 trophies at the 2010 AMI Awards and proved D’MASIV was more than just a heartbreak band. Their dedication also made history through a MURI record during the Orange Album era, performing at 50 minimarket locations across Jakarta-Tangerang in only 14 hours. Internationally, D’MASIV expanded their reach from performing for the Kingdom of Brunei in 2009 to appearing at Guinness Arthur’s Day in Dublin (2013), live recording 20 songs at the Abbey Road Studios, touring 10 cities in the US for the TIME album in 2022, and performing twice at Times Square, New York. In 2023, they celebrated 20 years of music with a grand anniversary concert and continued their global journey through the 20AD To The World tour across America, Europe and Australia. In 2025, D’MASIV performed at MUSEXPO LA, toured Japan, and returned to Los Angeles to record their upcoming album. Now officially independent, D’MASIV enters a bold NEW ERA with complete creative freedom and fresh musical energy.
