Rik Emmett

After a dozen platinum TRIUMPH LPs from ’75 to ’88, Rik released 25 more solo projects ranging across many genres. Six decades in the biz garnered inductions to five Halls and two Walks of Fame, with a few ‘Best Guitarist’ awards along the way. His writing (on ECW Press) includes two poetry collections, ‘Reinvention’(2021), and "Leaning Into It" (2026): a memoir (‘LAY IT ON THE LINE – 2023), and a 2024 work entitled ‘Ten Telecaster Tales’ (ECW), which combines ten instrumentals with a book, (arguably) the most comprehensive attempt at liner notes in the history of fingerstyle electric guitar. Rik was a Guitar Player magazine columnist for over a dozen years and taught on the Humber College music faculty. The avowed family man, currently living the dream in Burlington, Ontario, surprisingly unretired to tour North America in 2026 with Triumph, to resounding success.
