Origin of X

Despite being active on the South East’s underground circuit for over a decade under his given name, the Origin of X project is a conduit to exploring the darker recesses of electronic music. Dispensing with the formula and writing his own rule book, Origin of X is producing moody, malevolent dance music aimed at the dance floor, spanning from house to progressive to techno. After years of toying with the idea of taking his career in a new direction, experimentation in the studio has given origin of X the confidence to make and play music that goes against the grain. Music that not only challenges himself as an artist, but offers a fresh musical experience to audiences inside the club. Interestingly, as much as Origin of X is a future-forward project, it’s also the acknowledgement that he is the sum of a rich tapestry of influences. His parents’ record collection included Chaka Khan and Black Box. At the height of his teenage rebellion, World Dance rolled right through his backyard and an unbridled love affair with rave culture sparked. Initially, it was an infatuation with jungle and D&B, until Pete Tong turned his head in the late-90s with house music by way of his seminal Ministry Of Sound The Annual CD series. A visit to Ibiza in 2000 would cement his passion as a lifelong vocation. Returning to the island yearly thereafter, later, he would get to play there himself.
