Cat Ryan

Cat Ryan is the musical creation of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mary-Anne Murphy alongside band mates Jake Waller-Doyle (lead guitar), Charlie Radford (drums), and Dan Wright (bass/keys). Emerging out of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Cat Ryan move freely across the indie spectrum, anchored by their strong melodic pop sensibility. Since arriving on the scene in 2020, the four-piece have captivated audiences with their vibrant blend of angular, surf-soaked guitars and infectious rhythmic punch. Their refreshingly distinct sound has earned them consistent acclaim — from debut single 'Mannerism' through to their EP 'King of the World' and 2026 single 'Free From This' — picking up support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Radio X, alongside playlisting on New Music Friday. Cat Ryan have built a consistent live reputation, with numerous festival appearances at The Great Escape, Truck, Y NOT and Kendal Calling, and supporting shows with Sundara Karma, Hot Wax, Alfie Templeman and SPRINTS. Cat Ryan’s summer 2026 single ‘Free from this’ is out now!
