Biography & Metadata

Now more than ever - in an age of convenience, commodities, shortcuts, short attention spans, digital artificiality, algorithms, content creation, and viral videos - I think process matters. I don’t think art is about achieving a certain sound or level of quality, I think it’s about laying down a set of parameters that give the soul the best chance of coming out to play. And then letting whatever happens happen. Stripped of expectations, ego, and outcome. The art is simply the byproduct of a process of exploration. And then it’s about letting yourself be surprised - and if you’re lucky - learning something about yourself or our shared experience in that process. I’m not the best guitar player or the best singer out there. And while I respect the virtuosos and the professionals, I think those traits would just be just snacks for the ego, and they’re not really what art is about. Art is for everyone, art is just feeling. It’s about finding the timeless in the everyday mundanity. It’s about examining the commonplace, taking it out of context and giving it a new perspective. I think we’re all artists, and the human existence is a work of art. Every choice we make is a brushstroke, and how we walk through the world is the medium. I’m pretty open about who I am, I strive for transparency. I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to send me a message and say hey! I wouldn’t be able to do this without you, and I can’t thank you enough for listening and for being here. 🖤 Emory
