Biography & Metadata

Drahthaus was founded in Vienna in 2015 by Simon Öggl, Valentin Martins, Ludwig Ascher, and Hans Zoderer, the lineup has remained unchanged ever since. The project began with collaborative jam sessions between Öggl and Martins, and as spontaneous concert opportunities arose, the current formation quickly took shape. Ascher and Zoderer first met on stage. Initially highly improvised, Drahthaus’s sound soon evolved into a conceptual and detail-oriented blend of genres, with a strong focus on electronic dance music. In their second year, the band was already performing at international festivals. With the release of their first EP „room one”, Drahthaus combined music with interactive sound installations; the release show sold around 1,000 tickets. This was followed by tours across the German-speaking area, Eastern Europe, and Italy, additional EPs like DeConstruct, and performances on major stages, including the Donauinselfest. Their debut album was released in 2020 and received critical acclaim but had limited impact due to the pandemic. In addition to their own music, the band collaborated with artists such as Clara Luzia, Jahson the Scientist, and IKAN HYU, gradually discovering a passion for working as producers. Today, they run their own house in Vienna, complete with studios and a coworking office – a creative hub for music, art, and social projects.
