The name unsui —meaning “cloud-water” in Japanese—evokes the water cycle as a metaphor for the perpetual motion of creative processes For unsui, water is more than a natural element—it’s a symbol of emotional and sonic movement. It shapes the textures, atmospheres, and structures of his music, where the line between the human and the elemental gradually dissolves. With a background in percussion, rhythm has always been central to his creative process. His productions are driven by subtle grooves, layered rhythms, and evolving cadences that form rich, immersive soundscapes. This vision takes shape in his hybrid live sets, where analog synths, live sequencing, and carefully crafted atmospheres come together. unsui has performed alongside artists such as TWO LANES, il:lo, Steven Weston, Lycoriscoris, PALLADIAN, offering deep, transportive experiences on stage. Following the release of his first two EPs, Drops From The Sun and Drops From The Moon, unsui returns to Steven Weston’s London-based label Blank Dust with his upcoming EP Back Home—a work inspired by the journey toward truth.
