Biography & Metadata

DJ Gomi is a globally respected producer, songwriter, and DJ originally from Japan and now based in New York City. His career spans decades of influential work across the international dance music world, including collaborations with legendary artists such as Beyoncé, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. He is also celebrated for his iconic remix of Seasons of Love from the musical Rent, which remains a dancefloor staple to this day. After early mentorship under Haruomi Hosono (Yellow Magic Orchestra) and formal training at Berklee College of Music, Gomi moved to NYC and quickly established himself as Junior Vasquez’s main programmer at the iconic Sound Factory. From there, he rose to become an in-demand producer and remixer, shaping countless club hits and projects with world-renowned DJs and producers like Roger Sanchez and David Morales. In 2025, Gomi produced the highly anticipated new album for queer icon Kevin Aviance, further cementing his reputation as a creator of bold, expressive music for the dancefloor and beyond. Beyond his work in the studio and behind the decks, he has also contributed to innovations in music technology. He has collaborated with companies such as Pioneer and Roland.
