Liro Sotomela

Liro Sotomela, born Siyapha Sinobubele Mpopoma, is a South African hip-hop artist from Willowvale in the Eastern Cape. Raised in a challenging environment, he developed a passion for music from a young age. His early involvement in a school choir helped build his understanding of rhythm, harmony, and performance, forming the foundation of his musical journey. Around 2016, Liro began writing music as a way to express his thoughts and emotions. After his private writings were exposed, he shifted to freestyling as a more personal outlet. During difficult moments, music became his way of coping, evolving into both therapy and a key part of his identity. As his passion grew, Liro developed a vision to expand beyond his hometown. He began traveling to Johannesburg in 2021 to explore opportunities and understand the music industry. In 2024, he officially relocated, marking a major step in his personal and professional growth. In 2025, Liro toured across multiple South African cities, strengthening his stage presence and connection with audiences. He continues to develop as an artist driven by authenticity and purpose, aiming for global success. His journey reflects growth, resilience, and a commitment to using music as a tool for expression and impact, as he builds a legacy rooted in truth and creativity.
