Biography & Metadata
Kirill Timofeev is a cellist, composer, and Artistic Director of the KLANGS!NN Festival, dividing his life and work between Germany and Saint Petersburg. His artistic identity reflects both the cultural depth of his native city and more than twenty-five years of musical life in the German-speaking world. In 2002, he co-founded the Rastrelli Cello Quartet, establishing a major international profile with performances at Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Suntory Hall Tokyo, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Rheingau Musikfestival, and many others. Since 2025, Timofeev has been the Artistic Director and Presenter of the Klangsinn Festival in Marktoberdorf (Bavaria, Germany), which explores musical connections between Germany and the cultural heritage of Saint Petersburg, focusing on composers, performers, and historically rooted dialogue. His debut solo album Capricci & Bagatelles — works by Dall'Abaco, alongside his own compositions — will be released on GENUIN classics in October 2026.
