My name is Samantha Figueroa, I have always gone by Sam. I am a 24 year old born and raised in LA. I always had a curiosity for music, however I never really focused on it because I thought I had no talent since no one in my family is musically inclined. Once I had enough money saved up, I was able to get my first guitar. Therefore, I didn't start singing till the age of 13. I wrote my first song for my little sister, after she was diagnosed with cancer. This song was my way of telling her to stay strong which in the end helped her until she was finally free. Ever since then I have been writing and learning new instruments. These include the piano and ukulele. I also have been learning to produce and anything about music in general. The music I normally make sticks to the pop or singer/songwriter genre. I  prefer to make music that is very lowkey, simple and focuses on the artist rather than the music. I have dabbled in other genres though. For example. I was a feature for one of my friends song which was a EDM inspired beat. The last song I released was more pop/rock inspired beat, I wanted to try to get people to dance with that one. Aside from my family, music is one of the most important things in my life. Without it, I would not be here today. I think music is a form of art in which someone can tell a story without it having to make sense or even be long. I also feel like music is a way of telling someone how you feel without telling them.
