Biography & Metadata

Drew Thomas has never really fit the mould. Too rock for the pop kids. Too pop for the rock kids. Too loud in some rooms, too different in others. It’s a feeling he’s carried far beyond music, growing up with a sexuality that never seemed to fit neatly into the boxes he was handed. Now based in London, Drew has turned that feeling of being caught somewhere in between into a sound of his own. Grit-pop is where huge hooks meet dirty guitars, early-noughties nostalgia meets modern songwriting, and vulnerability sits right alongside swagger. Think scratched CDs, late-night music channels, ripped jeans and dog-eared copies of NME, but with something much more personal underneath. Upcoming single “American Dreams” takes aim at fame, beauty, money and the pressure to become the perfect version of yourself, asking what happens when getting everything you’re told to want still doesn’t make you happy. Following 2025’s acclaimed Watershed EP, Drew has quickly built a reputation as a modern LGBTQ+ artist unafraid to turn personal experiences into big, immediate songs. Breakout single “Girls Like Girls” surpassed 2 million Instagram views, while “Do They Even Know You” earned BBC Radio 1 support from Alyx Holcombe, alongside spins on Amazing Radio, Total Rock and stations worldwide. The grit-pop revolution isn’t about fitting in, it’s about finding power in the fact that you never did.
