Starting with her 2009 debut masterpiece Cupra, frenesi captivated the Japanese indie scene with her distinctive whisper-soft vocals and avant-garde pop sensibility. After a prolific run and a legendary 2014 farewell performance, she entered a period of silence—until the digital age rediscovered her. In 2020, as her back catalog hit streaming platforms, a new generation of global listeners emerged. Captivated by her ethereal sound, she earned the title "Shibuya-kei's Björk," amassing tens of millions of streams worldwide. After 11 years of silence, frenesi made her stunning return in late 2025 with Jorei Shinaide (Don't Exorcise me). Now, she continues to push boundaries with her latest 2026 releases like Undo-Onchi(Clumsy Girl), bridging the gap between nostalgic "Shibuya-kei" and the futuristic unknown. Notably, frenesi also creates all of her own visual artworks and character designs.
