Biography & Metadata

Daniel began his musical training on the classical violin at the age of 8. When became a teenager, bored of playing the same old Mozart etudes again and again, he shifted his interest to the upcoming typical 80s Synth-Sounds. In the early 90s everything changed. After his first encounter with House and Techno we was immediately hooked to the sound and fell in love with this new and fresh music. Quickly he started buying records, mixing as bedroom DJ and playing at some small and privat places. 1993 he plays his first real DJ set on bigger stage at the legendary Hanomag Halls in Hannover. Together with Tobi A.o. he founded Paraphonatic in 1994, releasing first Vinyl in 1995. Today he focus more on his solo project and the associated collaborations, mainly with Andray and Tobi A.o. While contemporary electronic music typically thrives on short tracks with heavy drops, he adopts a completely different approach. Instead of spectacular drops, he likes tracks that stay in the flow. He prefers tracks that blend seamlessly into sets over those that seek to grab attention with dramatic effects. Somewhere between deep house and minimal techno, he loves tracks with long arrangements that evolve slowly, with a focus on the small details. Titles that demand patience from the listener, yet reward them if they listen carefully. Percussive tracks with sparse melodies, sometimes contemplative, sometimes melancholic, sometimes groovy, always emotional.
