Mike Bxnks also known as MB (real name Michael Akrofi) is a London-born Ghanaian musician, producer and engineer. He has worked with a range of major artists including Ghetto Boy, Jaji Hollands, Vianni, Lotto Boyz, T Mulla, Not3s, Wande Coal, and Fireboy DML and many others. He released his first production in 2013 with Ghetto Boy, before reaching his first million streams in 2017 with the breakout hit “Under Lover” The record has since reached 2.9+million streams and inspired a global dance trend, followed by “Pepper” with Ghetto Boy & DJ Boat which has surpassed over 4+ million streams. Beyond the studio, MB plays keys, bass and drums; since reaching Young Drummer of the Year 2014 Finals over the years he has built a strong reputation as a live musical director and performer—serving as musical director for Stefflon Don’s Australian tour and performing as a drummer at Promiseland Festival in 2024. He has also worked closely with JayO and Skeete as musical director, programmer, and drummer, including performances at BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Hot for 2024 and This Is What I Mean Day Festival 2024. Blending African influences with UK Afro-swing and contemporary global genres of music, Mike Bxnks continues to shape his sound to mark the next chapter in a career defined by impact, versatility and evolution.
