Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus (Born May 21, 1997) is an Afropop singer who hails from Ogun state, Nigeria. As the last born in a family of 4, Joeboy grew up a shy and timid kid who was raised in a religiously inclined household. Through the influences of his musically inclined parents and older brother as well as the unique sounds of the Nigerian church,Joeboy absorbed the cocktail of sonics and unwittingly tapped into the musicality surrounding him. At the age of 18, Joeboy started actively working on his music, albeit privately, till he gathered courage to actively put himself out there which was when his cover of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of you caught the attention of Superstar Mr. Eazi and the rest is as they say is, history. Often referred to as “Young Legend”, Joeboy has amassed over 2 billion carer streams across all credits on major DSPs with songs which have topped charts in over 20 countries globally.
