What started as a viral sensation has evolved into a celebrated, high-energy live act: Funky Times don’t just blow up the internet – they turn every stage into a celebration of funk and have established themselves as one of the most exciting emerging live acts in the international funk scene. With a dynamic blend of funky grooves, virtuosic musicianship and an infectious sense of fun, they captivate audiences from the very first note. After countless shows across Europe, a successful Asia tour recently took Funky Times to Indonesia, where they performed at the renowned Java Jazz Festival, as well as to Beijing, China, and the legendary Blue Note Tokyo in Japan. In Tokyo, Japanese guitar legend Masayoshi Takanaka caught the band live and later praised them in a radio interview: “The moment you hear them, they just feel so good! Those crisp, snappy rhythms – they’re incredibly tight, aren’t they?” The sound of Funky Times is turning heads. Bass virtuoso Henrik Linder of Dirty Loops, Spanish groove master Vincen Garcia, saxophonist Sam Greenfield, former Prince trumpeter Philip Lassiter and funk icon Candy Dulfer have all collaborated with Funky Times. “One of my favourite new bands!” Candy Dulfer said of the group. Their music has racked up millions of streams and won fans around the world. In Japan, the album even received a dedicated CD release through the renowned label P-Vine and is available in stores across the country.
