Biography & Metadata

Pelham-raised, NYC-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Carter Brady blends ’90s alt-rock grit with hook-driven indie-pop anthems. A relentless studio force, Brady writes, arranges, co-produces, and tracks most of or all of the instruments, powering his sound with roaring guitars, punchy drums, and dynamic vocals. Following his sophomore LP Shopping Cart—which charted on College Radio, spent weeks on the Roots Music Report Top 50, and earned multiple Song of the Year awards—Brady hit the live circuit. A powerhouse live group comprised of Sammy Wags, Michael Iaciofano, Ryan Datino, and Bennett Saltzman, Carter and the band's high-energy shows have packed Mercury Lounge and Arlene’s Grocery, sold out Nublu, and hit the Toonerville festival stage. Alongside his alt-rock side project Viib Slide, Brady's prolific songwriting output finds him continually teaming up with varied producers and guest musicians, notably featuring Nirvana MTV Unplugged / In Utero tour cellist Lori Goldston on standout Shopping Cart track "Invincible." Released September 10, his 13-track follow-up record Add To Cart he co-produced with Sammy Wags builds on Shopping Cart with razor-sharp dynamics and grunge textures, further fueling his growing social media following and establishing him as one of New York’s most compelling, hard-working independent rock voices.
