Biography & Metadata
Patricia Temitope Alabi, popularly known as Tope Alabi, an indigene of Yewa, Ogun State, Nigeria, was born into the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi in October, 1970. She studied Mass Communication at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, became exposed to acting and was involved in various film productions. Her musical talent paved the way for her to become one of Nigeria's front-liners in movie soundtrack production. In the Yoruba movie genre alone, she has made more than 1,000 soundtracks and signature-tunes. Tope Alabi received her call into music ministry in the Year 2000 with Oore ti O Common as her debut album which shot her into limelight. She has to her credit many popular album releases including Oore ti o Common, Angeli Mi, Agbelebu, Alagbara, Oruko Tuntun, a Compilation of Sound Tracks, and the more recent Yes and Amen, Logan Ti O De with the sensational TY Bello and her latest release, Igbowo Eda. Tope Alabi's strength lies in her spontaneous creativity. She receives the inspiration for new songs when she worships God. Today, Tope Alabi, alongside her producer-manager husband, Soji, run a registered NGO in Nigeria named THE MARDEBRA COMFORTER FOUNDATION which caters for the less-privileged. Their music label GOSPEL VIBES LTD. also hosts an annual event tagged PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY CONCERT every third Sunday of February in Lagos, Nigeria with multitude of worshippers attending to honour the King of kings. She is blessed with God-fearing children.
