Text 'join' to +1 (615) 561-1478 to join our Blueser fan club The imagination of Gentry Blue has inspired many adventures, from a cosmic augury, to an existential crisis in a grassy meadow, wild murderesses on the loose, and even a passionate, high-speed car chase. Frontwoman and songwriter Lydia Wynne builds and destroys entire worlds, fearlessly alchemizing her quandaries into catchy pop hooks. She dons a flowing, velvet dress and wields an electric violin like a sword made of lightning, atop the foundation of her bandmates’ roaring as a wild beast. Difficult concepts and intricate compositions are expertly regaled on Gentry Blue’s debut album, Fragments (2024), and there are more tales yet to unfold with Wynne and her current collaborators, Deebs (guitar), Preston Milne (bass), and Alan Bowers (drums). Challenging themselves with another elaborate arrangement and universal truth, the group’s latest single, “The Staggering Expanse of Man”, depicts a somber protagonist on an exploited planet. Their boldest excursion yet, this story moves from chaotic and ungrounded progressive rock riffs to vast, dissociative acoustic moments, delivering a wake-up call and tender dagger to the heart of humanity.
