Biography & Metadata

With more than three decades in music, Angie Brown is one of Britain’s most distinctive and influential vocalists. Renowned for her powerful, gospel-infused voice, she rose to international fame on Bizarre Inc’s ’90s dance anthem “I’m Gonna Get You”, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart. Her unmistakable vocals also feature on “Took My Love” and Mark Morrison’s global hit “Return of the Mack”. Angie has recorded and performed with artists including Grace Jones, Chaka Khan, Beverley Knight, Fatboy Slim, Stereophonics, and Rolling Stones members Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood through The Dirty Strangers. A new generation discovered Angie through Öwnboss & Sevek’s “Move Your Body”, which became a global phenomenon and the No. 1 Bass House track of 2022. She continues to release new music, including “Soul Vibration”, “Trouble”, “I Will Follow You”, “Overcome” and “Hold That Sucker Down”. In 2026, Angie was featured in V&A East’s landmark exhibition “The Music is Black: A British Story”, celebrating 125 years of Black music-making in Britain. She also launched ABMG—Angie Brown Music Group—with her husband. The independent, artist-led label champions creative integrity, accurate credit and fair ownership. Its first release, “The Real Me” by MRKO and Angie Brown, opens a bold new chapter in the career of a voice that continues to move dance floors and touch souls around the world.
