Biography & Metadata

Born on August 7, 1993, as Robert Bellamy Jr., the artist better known to the world as Yung Swagg is carving a unique space in the American rap scene. Swagg hails from Washington, DC, but now resides in Los Angeles, a relocation made in 2019 to further inspire and develop his craft. His journey started with a bang as his debut mixtape, "The Arrival," galvanized attention by topping the charts on Spinrilla upon its release. His energetic and piercingly honest tracks derived from lived experiences captivated listeners, marking Swagg as a new force in the music industry to be reckoned with. Since then, Yung Swagg has steadily released a series of thought-provoking singles, including "I Noticed," "Cut It Off," and "I'm Him," all released in the year 2023. These tracks racked up streams in the hundreds of thousands, with "I Noticed" leading the way totalling more than half a million streams. His album, "All Love Lost," debuted in December 2023, securing just under 500,000 streams within its first two months and reflecting his growing success. A major cornerstone of Swagg's artistry is the influence he draws from major figures in the genre like Future, Drake and Lil Wayne. Taking cues from these giants, Swagg spins a sound that is uniquely his own. More recently, he has adapted a style echoing the likes of Rod Wave, DeeBaby and Lil Durk, showcasing his versatility by pouring out his feelings over melodic instrumentals.
