Kestutis Daugirdas

Kestutis Daugirdas (1985- ) is a Lithuanian-American composer, conductor, and choral artist. His choral compositions are performed by top collegiate ensembles, as well as internationally (two of his folk song arrangements were performed by 11,000 singers at the 2024 Lithuanian Song Festival, a quadrennial event that has been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). For 18 years, he has been active as a music director, festival conductor, choral clinician —working with a cappella ensembles, church and community choirs, school ensembles, and musical theatre casts. He has also sung professionally and toured with the JAUNA MUZIKA chamber choir of Vilnius (dir. Vaclovas Augustinas). This wide-ranging set of experiences has empowered him to write choral music that is evocative, accessible, effective, interesting, and —most importantly — fun to sing. In addition to choral music, he also has successfully composed for commercials (Coca-Cola, Bud Light, Cricket Wireless), and film/tv (orchestration for Pokemon, placements on Netflix and TV, short films). He has degrees from the University of Illinois (B.M.E, Choral Music Education), Berklee College of Music (Diploma, Film Scoring), and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius (M.A., Composition).
