Luke Carey

Question: what do you get if you fuse the sound of musical pioneers such as Sinatra, Bowie and Marvin Gaye with today's social attitude and sophisticated studio techniques? Answer: Luke Carey! This Yorkshire-born singer/songwriter, delivers his fusion of soul, rock and blues with modern pop production styles; presenting it all with showman-like panache inspired by iconic frontmen as varied as Bowie to Robert Palmer and as current as Bublé, George Ezra and Harry Styles. Although growing up surrounded by music of all genres, it wasn’t until his late teens that Luke found his own unique voice; mixing his baritone vocal cadences and riffs championed by soul and blues artists alike. Whilst still sticking within the margins of pop music, attributing genres such as classic R&B, swing, rock, funk and disco can clearly be heard within his music. Adding to this equation his proud Northern heritage and upbringing, steeped heavily in the clubland culture prevalent in and around his hometown; Luke Carey the performer somehow embodies the perfect combination of the veteran showman and likable confidante. One whom with each musical offering, invites you into his world of everyday highs and lows, heartache and euphoria, sentimentality and celebration; all delivered in his signature brown-eyed soul homage to the aforementioned greats that enriched his musical youth...
