Ana Golja

Hi! I’m Ana — a singer-songwriter from Toronto with Albanian roots and a lifelong soul obsession. I started performing at 11, in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, then Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Sound of Music, training in classical voice and piano at The Royal Conservatory. By 16, I was writing my own songs, chasing the ache I heard in Amy Winehouse, Etta James, and Nina Simone. I had my first release “Epilogue” in 2018, followed by “Strive” in 2021. Four years ago, I made a decision that scared me: I parted ways with my management to do this on my own. No label telling me what to sound like — just me and a small team I built from scratch in London, England. More artists are taking their stories back into their own hands right now, and I wanted that for myself too. What came out is the most honest, vulnerable music I’ve ever made. Truthfully, it’s been my therapy — every lyric something I actually lived. I’m coming home to my soulful, sultry roots, but I’m not the same person who left. Some of you know me from Degrassi, Full Out or from producing and starring in The Cuban — acting will always be part of me. But right now, this music is the truest thing I have to give you.
