Biography & Metadata

Völkslieder (also written: Voelkslieder) is a zero-profit studio project anchored in Munich, Germany. Historically, Volkslieder were songs that carried a shared world — songs of belonging, continuity, and familiarity. This is the inverse. A modern Völkslied is what remains when continuity is broken: friction, amplified. The project operates as a solitary transmission. There is no band mythology, no frontman, no constructed identity. The writing, production, and direction are anchored by the same hand. Vocalists and instrumentalists are invited per song as witnesses — credited, paid, and returned to their own work. There is no permanent membership. The sound moves between punk, post-hardcore, alternative rock, and metal. Not to celebrate destruction — to document the weight of systems that continue functioning while everything underneath them erodes. There is release, but no relief. 100% of net royalties received by Völkslieder are donated to non-profit organisations working on environmental law, digital rights, and mental health in heavy music subcultures. The project is not built to own more. It is built to keep less. Do not follow. Just listen. The weight remains.
