Cementation Anxiety

Native to the Northern New Jersey/New York area, Cementation Anxiety is the guitar-driven ambient project of Kyle Nelson. Nelson draws influence from the last four decades of ambient, drone, and industrial music—all while channeling the urgency and ethereality of 80’s post-punk and dream-pop. This confluence of sound manifests itself in his dense, yet weightless atmospheres that envelop the listener. The juxtaposition of emotional extremes permeate Cementation Anxiety’s sound—challenging the listener’s position therein. Late 2020 and mid 2021 saw the releases of debut album In Continual and EPs Liminal Instability and Prospects of Dissolution. Subsequently, a period of immense writing ensued in late 2021 and throughout 2022, wherein three albums, three splits, and three EPs were written and recorded. Throughout 2023, Cementation Anxiety has released works on many labels within the underground ambient and noise community, including Trust Collective and Amulet of Tears. His second album, AGNOSIAREIGN, is slated for release in late May on Black Artifact.
