Founded in 2020 by German producer Bjoern Raymond Hoppen, the dark folk project Bjorth blends Norse mythology with cinematic soundscapes. Traditional instruments like the tagelharpa and ancient taiko drums meet powerful, driving beats. This raw energy resonates not only with folk fans but also generates millions of streams, driven by various popular mixes and videos across YouTube. Alongside original hits like "Drums of Midgard", this massive sound is complemented by regular international collaborations. Features with scene heavyweights such as Kveld, Munknörr and A Tergo Lupi - along with artists like Aethyrien, Pawl D Beats , Bukhu, Noiduin and many others—are a staple of the project. Notably, the collaboration with GRAMMY-nominated cellist Tina Guo on the track " Berserker" garnered significant attention. Proving that the music has reached absolute blockbuster scale, the gaming world has also taken notice: in 2025, the track "Svinfylking" scored the official Season 4 Launch Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. In 2026, the project underwent a lineup change. After many years of collaboration, long-time vocalist Dani departed and the formation was expanded to include Rahel ( SoulHikers ) on vocals and Hendrik ( Steineiche ) as a multi-instrumentalist. Powered by this new lineup, Bjorth is now ready to bring its massive sound to the live stage in 2027.
