wev is a New York-based producer and DJ whose sound is rooted in the DNA of house and garage — inherited not through the dancefloor, but through play. Raised on late 90’s video game soundtracks which reflected the club music of that era, he traced those sounds back to the source and built something native to both worlds: music that moves a club the way a great soundtrack moves through a game. His tracks are brought to life through visuals from longtime collaborator Nam Mac, whose work channels similar influence — together they've built a world for listeners to get lost in, one that's been synced with campaigns for Marc Jacobs' Heavn, Adidas, and G-Shock. The breakout moment came during a support set for Sammy Virji in Brooklyn, when a clip of wev's edit of the Cowboy Bebop theme "TANK!" went viral, racking up tens of millions of streams and extending his universe through the same kind of playful reference that defines his production. That connection has come full circle through the games themselves — "watchyaback!" became a standout on the OST of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the critically acclaimed spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, and "shigoto werk" was placed in Rocket League in early 2026. Built independently and grown organically from New York and Tokyo outward, his debut album OST — as in original soundtrack, the format that first carried this music to him and now the definitive statement of his own — arrives May 2026.
