Michael Schacht is a sonic storyteller from Frankfurt, Germany, crafting tranquil, expansive worlds under his ambient moniker Metric System 1981. Known for his deeply immersive, meditative music, his compositions flow like slow-moving rivers through imagined landscapes — cinematic, atmospheric, and versatile in tone. After a long musical hiatus, during which he focused on his work as an award-winning board game designer, Michael revived his project in 2020. His music reflects an unquenchable curiosity, naturally leading to countless collaborations with exciting musicians – especially highlighting the frequent collabs with the wonderful flute artists Shere Fraser, Silvia Blaser and Liesbet Leroy.
