Big Leaf

Big Leaf is a musical duo featuring Muunjuun (Curtis James) and J Greegs (Joshua Griego.) They are best friends from Ventura, California. The two met in string orchestra in middle school in 2003, where Josh played upright bass and Curtis played violin. Big Leaf shares a passion for classic rock and roll, progressive rock, jazz, soul, funk, r&b, hip hop, classical, and experimental music. In the Fall of 2022, they decided to create an album together, thus the birth of Big Leaf. Big Leaf’s sound is hard to pin down with one genre. You can expect their styles to vary from track to track, while still maintaining a signature sound. Many of their songs feature the two singing playful, jazzy melodies over funky bass lines and groovy drum beats. Curtis and Joshua are both multi instrumentalists and recorded almost all the instruments in Curtis’ home studio in Sebastopol, California. On a few of the songs on their debut album, the talented Gabe Katz is featured on drums (When I Wake Up, When I Was Young, New Clear Vision) and K-Magic on keys (When I Was Young, Cabron footprint, Almost Gone.)
