Biography & Metadata

Night Hawk is an American indie rock band from Brunswick, Maine, now based in Washington, D.C. Originally a songwriting vehicle for Colter Adams (Indigo Boulevard) and Peyton Semjen, the project has evolved into an acclaimed live act with the addition of Courtney Burnett (drums), Alex Kozic (guitar), Emma Chun (violin), and Shea Sewall (bass), earning a devoted following for its enchanting harmonies, dynamic range, and captivating lyricism. Night Hawk released its debut album, Before We Begin, in 2025, produced in part by Colin Miller, known for his work with Wednesday, Indigo De Souza, and MJ Lenderman. Upon release, the band was featured in The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, Under the Radar Magazine, and was highlighted by Park Life for its "blend of soaring indie-rock and folk textures" and noted as one of "DC’s buzziest live acts." Night Hawk has collaborated with the Whitney Museum of Art and the Edward Hopper House, shared the stage with innlet, Sadurn, Y La Bamba, and Squirrel Flower, and headlined sold-out shows in Portland, ME, Brooklyn, NYC, and Washington, D.C. Notable performances include Club Passim's Campfire Festival (2024), BMI's Island Hopper Songwriter Fest (2024), and a sold-out benefit show for Ayuda at DC9 (2026). Their E.P. Somewhere, Anywhere is out on all platforms.
