May The Muse

May The Muse, born Désirée Mishoe, is a US/German/Danish singer-songwriter, producer, and multidisciplinary artist who grew up in Belgium. Entirely self-taught, she has built a career defined by fearless reinvention, immersive storytelling, and a voice that refuses to fit into one category. After being kicked out of a choir at twelve for having “too distinctive” a voice, Désirée left behind a successful modelling career to pursue music. Since then, she has moved between soul, R&B, electronic music, hip hop, cinematic soundscapes, and rock, constantly exploring new creative worlds. As a songwriter, she has written and co-written for artists including Xavier Naidoo and Chefket, while her own work has seen collaborations with Parra for Cuva, Robot Koch, FloFilz, Twit One, and Justin Hawkins. Celebrated for her “intense creativity” (Clash) and “bewitching vocals” (The Line of Best Fit), she has performed an acclaimed A COLORS SHOW, played festivals including Montreux Jazz Festival, Melt! Festival, and Reeperbahn Festival, shared stages with The Avalanches, Ibeyi, Tony Allen, Joep Beving, and The Darkness, and had music featured in Netflix’s Dark and Riverdale. Now entering a new chapter, May The Muse is creating her first fully self-produced body of work: a trilogy of EPs expanding her universe through music, visuals, and storytelling.
