Biography & Metadata

Creating spaces where music is not consumed, but embodied – you are the music About Philipp J. M. Stegmüller (born 1977, father of three children) Since the year 2000, people of all ages have been gathering in Philipp Stegmüller’s singing circles to sing simple songs from around the world together. The focus lies on the joy of singing without performance pressure or prior musical experience. Singing has been shown to increase happiness, support health, and foster heart coherence — the harmony between heart and brain. Singing is a form of reconnection (religio) with something greater than ourselves and has always been a central element of spiritual traditions worldwide. Philipp has dedicated himself fully to communal singing through groups, seminars, and singing circles. In December 2013, the children’s yoga music album “Schön, dass du da bist” (“How Wonderful That You Are Here”) was released. Philipp is the organizer of the Munich Nights of Spiritual Songs. The evenings have welcomed up to 1,000 participants. Singing and praying together — with the hope of discovering the “One within the Many” — and learning to appreciate, and at the same time transcend, the boundaries between cultural and religious traditions is at the heart of his work. I am very greatful and honoured to collaborate with such great artists as LovLenka, LAEELA, Kiko Pedrozo, Erhard Dengl www.kinderyoga-musik.de www.mantra-singing-circle.de
