Born in the thick of South African Apartheid in Tembisa, raised a post Apartheid Child to a Sotho Mother and Xhosa Father, Landmarque’ s Music journey started at the age of Twelve when his best friend, Wonder, introduced him to his Hip Hop Cassette tapes Collection.Soon,Landmarque began Collecting hi s own tapes followed by keen interest in lyricism,diverse hip hop sounds which to date has L A N D made him one of the top lyricists in Africa. Landmarque’ s sound can be described simply as : A street and conscious sound that offers something different, something real, something that touches multiple spheres of being human, from the emotional ,psychological, political and spiritual spheres of life. A sound rich in lyrical ingenuity and all round solid musical productions . ”I like to say I am a “ slave to the rhythm of the drum”. My inspiration i s music itself because I learned a lot from it. I get moved by the music and the beat s to write. My inspirations can be found in moving pieces of music across multiple genres .Music has a very unique power and I find myself marveling at its power whilst savoring it is pleasure.
