MAÍA is a Colombian singer, born on the Caribbean coast, known for her prodigious voice and her versatility in being able to sing diverse musical genders, such as pop, soul, jazz, rock, salsa and afrocaribbean folklore. MAÍA has been recognized as “La niña bonita” since she first started her career, back in 2002, thanks to her first tropical single “Niña Bonita”. Since she was very young. But it was in 1998 when she participated and won "Colombia suena bien"that everything changed. It was a national contest organized by Sony Music Colombia who Colombia, who after that, signed her. Her first single “Niña Bonita” was released and obtained double platinum records and shot her to the top spots in the music scene in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. She has received two Latin Grammy nominations for her work. On 2017 Maía lived one of the most iconic and special moments of her career when she was summoned to sing the Gospel for the papal Mass of Pope Francis in Colombia in front of 1.5 million people.
