Biography & Metadata
Blue Foundation is a Danish electronic dream-pop duo founded in 1999. Since 2010, the project has centered around singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visual artist Tobias Wilner and producer Bo Rande, based between Copenhagen and Brooklyn. Known for hypnotic live performances that unfold as uninterrupted sonic journeys with cinematic visuals, Blue Foundation creates immersive worlds where sound and image move together. In 2025, they released Close To The Knife, an emotionally charged album exploring love, betrayal, and longing through dream pop, space pop, and shoegaze. Working independently, Blue Foundation produces and records all music in their own studio. Wilner also creates the artwork and directs most of the band's visual content, shaping a cohesive artistic universe across music and design. Blending electronic, ambient, shoegaze, and dream pop, the band crafts cinematic, emotionally resonant soundscapes defined by ethereal melodies and haunting vocals. Clash Music describes their work as "blissful, dream-like electronic pop," while Far Out Magazine calls it "a deeply hypnotic blend of cinematic soundscapes and haunting melodies." Blue Foundation was founded by Tobias Wilner in 1999, together with early collaborators Anders Mannov (1999–2002) and songwriter/vocalist Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg (1999–2010). Their breakthrough came with Eyes on Fire, which became an international hit after appearing on the Twilight soundtrack.
