SLASHERS

In November 2022, after a corporate Halloween party, Asahi Music's founder, Steve Gobin, and one of his colleagues had the idea to create a song about people who destroy everything out of fear of life. Two months later, their collaboration resulted in the experimental rock song, "Fear Of Life," which was released. During that time, Steve and his music partner Markus Wagner signed on Konrad Berger, a German artist who had previously played bass guitar and sung in various live and studio sessions with Markus. Originally, SLASHERS was intended to be an artist name for a one-off release. However, Steve had the idea to keep it going and integrate Konrad as the lead performer while Markus joined as a co-producer with Steve. They decided to give SLASHERS a pop/rock flavour with an occasional touch of electro. Their second single, "Something Natural," relates to someone who suffers from chronic pain and the negative impact it has on his daily life. It also carries a message of courage and hope, as the narrator fights against his pain as much as he can to get rid of it. While Konrad is the lead singer, other lead or guest singers may be featured on future songs as well. SLASHERS is not a band per se, but rather a virtual headquarters where artists come and go, bringing their talents to explore humanity, including its aberrations.
