Artist. Creator. Producer. Engineer. Weird kid forever. Shawn Wasabi’s unique creative expression is a reflection of his distinctive self. As a second generation Asian-American kid of Filipino descent, Wasabi’s fast fingers first wowed the internet in 2015 with the release of “MARBLE SODA.” Wasabi followed up his debut with a series of live performance videos that not only showcased his dexterous controller mastery, but his unique formula of visual approach to music and ability to build musical worlds that bring the console to the dancefloor. Shawn Wasabi’s signature instrument, MIDI Fighter 64, is an arcade-inspired and visually expressive controller he invented with DJ TechTools, which has provided him a stage to create music with bursting colors. Each release- from the breakout “OTTER POP” , his debut album MANGOTALE in 2020 to the freshly dropped “i dip”- has showcased Wasabi’s fast developing range. Having beaten the YouTube game and 100 million views later, Shawn Wasabi is now on a mission to leave a high score on the pop charts.
