Biography & Metadata
Francesca Guccione is an Italian composer and violinist whose work moves between contemporary classical composition, electroacoustic production and film scoring. Fascinated from the beginning by the relationship between sound and image, she combined her violin training with studies in composition and film scoring, earning a Master’s degree with highest honors. In 2021 she released her debut album Muqataea on the French label Whales Records, under the artistic direction of cellist and composer Giovanni Sollima. In 2022 she released the EP Utopia Aerial View, produced in collaboration with Moog Music. Her second album The Geometry of Time was released in 2024 on the Berlin-based label Neue Meister, followed in 2026 by Panta Rhei: An Ontology of Becoming. She has also released official arrangements of works by Jóhann Jóhannsson for Neue Meister, including A Sparrow Alighted Upon Our Shoulder, A Pile of Dust and Good Night, Day, as well as the single Eurydice, created with Norwegian singer Red Moon from the melodic material of Flight from the City. Her music has been presented across Europe at festivals and venues including Opera Prima Festival, Blaues Rauschen, Superbooth and the National Museum of Warsaw. Alongside her artistic work, she has contributed to several film soundtracks, including Lubo by Giorgio Diritti, premiered in competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, as well as Death Is a Problem for the Living and the films Filip and Chopin, Chopin!.
