Dennis Johnson, professionally known as D Jay, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and producer making waves with his unique blend of Afrobeats, trap, and pop music. His fresh sound is helping redefine the new wave of Afrobeats, earning him recognition both locally and internationally. Born on September 1, 2001, D Jay developed a passion for music early. He first gained attention with his debut single “Bo Norr,” released during high school. He followed up with another standout hit, “Joy,” which built momentum and drew the attention of key industry players in Ghana. In 2022, he dropped the global smash “Balance It,” which went viral, racking up millions of streams and cementing his place in the Ghanaian music scene. The track earned him two nominations at the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards: New Artiste of the Year and Best Afrobeats Song. A remix featuring Mr Eazi expanded the song’s reach even further. He followed with his debut EP, “STARMAN,” in 2023, which has surpassed 100 million streams across platforms.
