Zeeshan Ali

Zeeshan Ali is a classically trained vocalist and musician from Lahore, widely recognised for his command over ghazal, Sufi, and semi-classical forms. Grounded in traditional South Asian vocal discipline, his work balances technical precision with emotional restraint, leaving space for both heritage and personal expression. He first came into wider recognition through NESCAFÉ Basement (Season 4) with his rendition of Tere Jeya Hor Disda, a performance that established him as a vocalist of depth, control, and sincerity. This momentum was further strengthened by his critically acclaimed rendition of Saadgi, presented with minimal piano and vocals. Zeeshan’s interpretation resonated with listeners globally and led to collaborations with respected platforms such as Sufi Score and Coke Studio Pakistan. Pushing his exploration of sound further, Zeeshan went on to form the band Surkhwaab fusion project that brings classical thumri sensibilities into dialogue with jazz and blues-influenced arrangements. More recently, he has performed at the Darbar Festival, including events for London’s Barbican Centre, situating his voice within a broader global South Asian music landscape.
