Steve Stinson

Born in 1990 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Steven Stinson grew up moving between the United States and Australia, absorbing a mix of musical and cultural influences that would later shape his songwriting. He began writing songs at around ten years old, encouraged by an unexpected moment with a music teacher who told him plainly: “You’re never going to be a great classical pianist—but the music you’re writing, that’s something worth paying attention to.” That moment shifted his focus from performance to creation and set him on a lifelong path as a songwriter. Although he later pursued a career in business, songwriting remained a constant. Drawing on years of personal experiences, travel, and reflection, Stinson continued to develop his craft while living across different parts of the world. Now based in Papua New Guinea, his music reflects a perspective shaped by movement, transformation, and the search for meaning—blending introspective storytelling with expansive, melodic soundscapes.
