dot is the moniker of producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Kate Ellwanger — a force at the intersection of electronic music, performance, and art. As one of the most dynamic voices in modern electronic production, dot has carved out a space where emotional depth and technical mastery coexist, blending lush sound design with cinematic melodies and intimate songwriting. Her discography spans acclaimed releases on mau5trap, Sable Valley, bitbird, Insomniac Records, Alt Vision, and LA’s underground cornerstone Alpha Pup Records, showcasing a rare versatility that bridges club energy with introspective, atmospheric soundscapes. Originally from Olympia, Washington, Dot also spent much of her youth exploring Idaho’s mountains before nearly a decade in Los Angeles, where she became the only female member of TeamSupreme and a fixture of the city’s underground scene. Now based in Sun Valley, Idaho, she balances her studio work with life as an avid trail runner, backcountry skier, and triathlete. As founder of Unspeakable Records and Sage Hill Studio, Dot continues to amplify women and independent artists in electronic music — blending analog warmth with digital precision, and driven by the unquenchable desire to discover new sounds, summits, and stages.
