Halibab Matador

My name is Alban Murenzi. I was born in Rwanda and I live in Belgium for more than 20 years. I started playing music at the age of 14 with the guitar as an instrument. I started learning to play covers of artists I liked at the time like Phoenix, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, ... The music that influenced me was more Rock and Folk at that time. Then, when I discovered King Krule at the age of 17, my mind was totally open to many different mixes of musical styles. My brother Yvan and I were huge fans for many years. We're still big fans. With my brother, we created a band called YellowStraps in 2011. We had the chance to do a lot of beautiful things thanks to this project, beautiful concerts, beautiful meetings, beautiful videos, beautiful trips, etc. I decided to withdraw from the project in 2020 because I no longer had the ambition to make music my profession. I have always preferred to create "in my corner" and the balance I have today as a producer / composer suits me perfectly. I am hidden but always present in the projects of YellowStraps but also for other projects for which I have the chance to participate. I had the chance to produce for artists that I like very much like Swing, Tobi Lou, Romeo Elvis, Primero, Nelick, Halehan, Roseau, blackwave., ... Today, every time I make music, it comes from the heart and I try to stay as authentic as possible. I really want it to be just a passion without any particular objective.
