The Obsidian Complex

Arising from New Jersey, The Obsidian Complex is a project that was birthed from music lovers alike. Music enthusiasts with one intention: To create what they have always longed to hear from the metal genre. “Instead of waiting for our favorite bands to add certain elements to their music, we decided to start a band to do that ourselves, in our personal music” says the band. Additionally, The Obsidian leaps toward the endeavor of pushing against the boundaries of both technical and groove metal, all while encompassing an atmosphere that will bring the listener on a journey. “Our goal is to incorporate a sound that redefines how people envision the metal genre while maintaining the traditional elements that we loved hearing as we were growing up.” says guitarist and producer of The Obsidian Complex: Joshua Aguayo. With syncopated riffs similar to bands like Meshuggah and After The Burial, and with technical elements similar to bands like Reflections, Berried Alive, and Rings of Saturn; this project of metal insanity is bound to appease the senses of the music enthusiast seeking a sound that will launch them from a rocket ship and onto the moon. After releasing their debut EP, the band is currently working on their first full length album in hopes of bringing forth a sound that is unique to anything that they have ever done. Stay tuned!
