Caliph

Caliph (pronounced CuhLeaf) is a Grammy-winning artist blending hip hop, Afro, R&B, and world music into bold, genre-defying storytelling. Born in Dakar, Senegal and raised in New Bedford, MA, he uses his journey as a Black Muslim immigrant to explore themes of identity, resilience, and healing through sound. Caliph’s rise began with a breakout appearance on American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom, a Grammy-winning album showcasing immigrant voices. He followed up with Immigrant Of The Year, a powerful 10-track album that documents his personal story—from navigating DACA setbacks to confronting mental health challenges—offering a message of hope and empowerment to those who’ve felt unseen. Known for his full creative independence, Caliph writes, produces, records, designs, codes, and markets everything himself. His music reflects his roots, his fight, and his future—an authentic voice turning struggle into art and experience into legacy.
