Yassine Himmi, known as LJasos, is a pioneering Moroccan rapper born on October 31, 1991, in Rabat. He began his musical career in 2004 with he’s first rap group Islam Company and later The Rabat DC collective was founded by LJasos in 2011 to unite emerging hip-hop artists from Rabat, Temara, Salé. The collective gained momentum through the release of the “Rabat DC” mixtape, which combined traditional Moroccan music with modern hip-hop, helping to reshape the local rap scene. LJasos’s vision was to create a collaborative space for innovative artists to come together, and Rabat DC became a key influence in the development of Moroccan trap and rap. The collective has played a significant role in inspiring future generations of Moroccan rappers . In 2013, LJasos introduced trap music to Morocco with his hit single “Fuck 3ala Tol,” featuring Klass-A, marking a turning point in his career. His influential mixtape “Rabat DC” showcased his innovative style and helped mentor emerging artists. LJasos continues to push the boundaries of Moroccan music, inspiring a new generation of rappers.
