NaiLiK

For NaiLiK, music is a matter of sonic architecture. Operating out of Montreal, Kilian Johnson leverages his background as a professional audio engineer and analog hardware designer to craft psytrance that is as technically precise as it is dancefloor-driven. After ten years as a staple artist on Grasshopper Records, NaiLiK launched Middle Motion Records in 2024 with DJ Horizon. The label serves as the headquarters for the "Middle Groove" movement—a subgenre defined by driving basslines, intricate sounds, and expansive atmospheres with high-tech elements. Middle Motion lives in the middle of full-on and more progressive sounds and BPMs. Having toured almost every continent, NaiLiK’s live sets are a masterclass in high-energy delivery. His transition from a young prodigy on Grasshopper to a label founder and engineering expert has solidified his reputation both locally and abroad, consistently incorporating the latest technology and classic analog tools to enhance the psychedelic experience.
